LORAIN — Several properties owned by an out-of-state investor are back on the city’s demolition list. Three homes owned by California-based Golden State Homes LLC were unanimously placed back on the chopping block Thursday morning by the demolition board of appeals members because of a lack of work done to address extensive code violations.
Commissioners OK Children Services levy, discuss plans for regional sewer district
The Lorain County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously Friday to place a 1.8-mill, five-year renewal levy for Lorain County Children Services on the November ballot. The board also discussed early plans for a regional sewer district including Lorain County and Vermilion, the so-called "6119 plan" after the Ohio Revised Code statute that allows for the creation of those districts.

A 62-year-old Avon Lake man was seriously injured July 17 in a two-vehicle crash in Milan Township, according to a news release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
