Elyria's water is safe, city lifts boil advisory
Drinking water in Elyria is once again confirmed to be safe as the city lifted all water restrictions Saturday, including a boil advisory. In a release sent at around 3 p.m. on Saturday, Elyria announced it had lifted the water usage restriction and boil advisory issued on Wednesday after the Environmental Protection Agency confirmed the city’s water was safe.
Elyria man arrested, charged with possession of cocaine, fentanyl
ELYRIA, Ohio (WOIO) -Elyria Police executed two residential search warrants Friday resulting in the arrest of a man and the seizure of fentanyl, crack cocaine and a firearm. Elyria Police, Lorain Police and the FBI searched the Midview Crossing Apartments in the 1800 block of Middle Avenue and a home on the 200 block of 16th Street, according to a release from Elyria Police.

Paul Huffman dies in Mansfield motorcycle accident
MANSFIELD, OH, (July 21, 2024) - Paul Huffman was tragically killed on Saturday when his motorcycle was struck by a van that ran a stop sign in Mansfield. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a Dodge Caravan driven by a 38-year-old man hit Huffman’s motorcycle at a stop sign at State Route 96 and Ganges Five Points Road at about 4:05 p.m. As a result, Huffman’s Harley-Davidson went off the road. Huffman, 45, was taken to Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital, where he died.
