Peregrine Falcon Nesting Season Complete
MONTPELIER, Vt. — Hikers and rock climbers can return to Vermont cliffs now that peregrine falcon nesting season has ended. The Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department, in collaboration with Audubon Vermont, has confirmed that all the young falcons have learned to fly and should not be disturbed by human presence on the cliffs.
Teenage runaway shot at Burlington skate park
A 17-year-old boy from Utica, New York, is in custody as an out-of-state runaway after being shot in the chest on the Burlington waterfront. The Burlington Police Department says the shooting took place at the Andy ‘A_Dog’ Williams Skatepark, which is just off of Lake Street. Precisely when the unnamed teen was shot wasn’t clear Sunday evening. However, police say he arrived at the UVM Medical Center emergency department shortly after 4:30 a.m. Sunday.

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Let’s take a look at what to do this Sunday. A new pop-up exhibit, titled the “American Revolution Experience,” set up shop at Chimney Point State Historic Site on Wednesday – and this weekend admission is free. The exhibit uses interactive displays to connect visitors to the people and places that shaped the birth of our nation. This exhibit highlights drummer boys, mapmakers, and other ordinary people, rather than focus on generals or statesmen. Chimney Point is open today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Traffic report of the week: Interstate 89 road work updates
According to the Chittenden County Regional Planing Commission, a resurfacing project on Interstate 89 will reduce southbound traffic to one lane between Exit 19 in St. Albans to the Lamoille River Bridge in Milton. Work takes place during the week from 930 a.m.-7 p.m. Motorists should be aware that a reduced speed limit of 55 MPH will be strictly enforced in the project area, and are encouraged to use extreme caution while traveling through the work zone. This project should be completed by fall 2024.

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. (WCAX) - A new Netflix film is trying to set a Guinness World Record for the most dogs to attend a film screening in Middlebury. “Inside the Mind of a Dog,” which was directed by Middlebury resident Andy Mitchell, held a screening Saturday at the Memorial Sports Center in the town.
Montgomery County woman struck by car, died in accident in Vermont
Vermont State Police say that 74-year-old Constance J. Vrooman from Sharon Springs, New York has died after being struck by a vehicle in Marlboro, Vermont. Officials say on Saturday around 11 a.m., the Westminster Barracks received multiple 911 calls regarding a pedestrian that had been struck by a motor vehicle on VT-9 in Marlboro, in the area of Hogback Mountain Scenic Overlook.
AmeriCorps member Onome Ofoman wraps up work with Friends of the Mad River
