Tri-State Coal Cats visit with pediatric patients at Hoops Family Children’s Hospital

HUNTINGTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Pediatric patients at Huntington’s Hoops Family Children’s Hospital received a special surprise on Tuesday when members of the Tri-State Baseball Coal Cats team stopped by to visit.

Before taking to Jack Cook field on Tuesday evening to secure a victory against the River Riders, Coal Cats team members made time to brighten the days of pediatric patients at Hoops Family Children’s Hospital and their families, providing encouragement and support.

“These young athletes took time out of their busy schedules to meet our patients and families,” said Hoops Family Children’s Hospital of the visit. “Our staff was so impressed with these young men, several of whom got down on the patients’ level to speak with them candidly about staying strong while in the hospital… Coal Cats, you officially have a new fan base here at Hoops!”

Members of the team even provided each patient with an autographed baseball during the visit.
