Huntington scored first on Saturday, but the Tigers came roaring back to defeat the Blue Devils, 27-6 in a Division II football game in Northport.

The game included a blocked field goal against Huntington and a 46-yard touchdown run by Northport quarterback Enrique Hernandez.

The game was sandwiched between a display of military salutes and themes in a competition designated as an “Army-Navy” game, with veterans marching, military recruiters on hand, and a trophy awarded to the winner after the game. Retired Maj. Gen. Anthony R. Kropp stood with the Blue Devils, while US Rep. Nick LaLota, a Navy veteran, backed the Tigers.

Supervisor Ed Smyth, who began the “Army-Navy” series two years ago and State Assemblyman Keith Brown, along with Suffolk Legislator Stephanie Bontempi, were on hand.
