With champion runner Mikey Brannigan serving as grand marshal, the annual Cow Harbor parade moved along Main Street Sunday, drawing large crowds eager to view the march and check out the vendors and carnival rides.

Elected officials, pipe and drum unit, the vaunted Northport High School band, firefighters, Scout groups, garden and farmer’s market representatives, dancers and singers, and many others joined the march of about three-quarters of mile as it finished near Northport Village Park. Vendors were set up in the park, while restaurants also attracted crowds.

The parade, boat contest and other events wrapped up Cow Harbor Weekend, following Saturday’s 10k race.

Brannigan beamed broadly and showed off his medal to cheers from the crowds, won two weeks ago at the Paralympics in Paris. The 15k T20 champ, who has autism, was a star runner at Northport; he graduated in 2015. He holds the world record  in the 5000 meters.
