Second Baptist Church celebrated with a mortgage burning on Sunday, a tradition that dates back to the early 1900s. They also dedicated their recently completed parking lot to long-time congregation members Earley and Doris Lawson. Many people have contributed to the projects, but the money the couple left the church in their will was a big help in paying for both. A new marker also dedicates the parking lot to them.
