Hypothermic 18-year-old pulled from Lake Huron near Port Austin
PORT AUSTIN, Mich. (WJRT) - An evening kneeboarding trip into Lake Huron nearly turned deadly offshore from Huron County on Wednesday. A Huron County sheriff deputy who was boating with friends around 8 p.m. came across a disabled personal watercraft with two people aboard and a third person in the water nearby about three miles north of Port Crescent State Park.
Tornado warning issued for eastern part of Huron County
A tornado warning was issued at 4:32 p.m. Friday for part of Eastern Huron County, including the Port Hope area. According to the warning from the National Weather Service, weather spotters reported a funnel cloud, which led to the warning. Dangers are flying debris. The storm was located near Kinde, or 7 miles west of Port Hope, moving northeast at 20 mph.
