NORWALK — On Monday, Connections Recovery Services began operating a mobile crisis response team in Huron County. The mobile crisis response team will respond to mental health- and addiction-related crisis calls in the county, staying available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, according to a press release from Huron County Board of Mental Health and Addiction Services.

An EF-0 tornado was confirmed in Willard, Ohio in Huron County on June 29, 2024. It became the 63rd recorded tornado in Ohio through the first six months of the year, breaking the previous record of 62 for all of 1992.

NORWALK — Huron County Public Health issued a reminder to people about its harm reduction vending machine, which is filled with several health care-related items. "Located outside the front of our Norwalk office, at 28 Executive Drive, the vending machine is stocked with several harm reduction resources, including Kloxxado, a nasally administered form of naloxone, and fentanyl test strips," an agency statement read. "The vending machine is free and accessible to the public 24/7."
Library receives $400K grant
NORWALK — Norwalk Public Library officials were elated when learning earlier this week that the organization would receive a $400,000 state grant. "Oh my gosh, we were so grateful," library director Stacey Church said. "We were hoping to get something. It's awesome we will be able to put that money back into the community."
