    Responders battle Hurricane house fire

    HURRICANE, WV (WOWK) — Local firefighters responded to a house fire in Hurricane Saturday morning.

    According to posts on the Hurricane Fire & Rescue and Nitro Fire Department Facebook pages, the fire was reported around 4:30 a.m. on Brooke Drive in the South Brooke subdivision. Fire spread throughout the second floor causing extensive damage before responders were able to put the fire out.

    No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is not known at this time.

    Members of the Teays Valley Fire Department, Culloden Volunteer Fire Department and Milton Volunteer Fire Department were also on scene alongside Putnam County EMS.
