Evers has ordered flags to fly at half-staff in honor of Racine County Executive Jonathan Delagrave, who apparently suffered a fatal heart attack while jogging early Friday morning. In a statement, Evers called Delagrave an exceptional leader who worked tirelessly over many years to leave a lasting impact on the county. Delagrave was in his third term as county executive. Assessed damage from Janesville tornado surpasses $20 million
JANESVILLE — The estimate of structural damage the EF-2 tornado that struck the south side of the city on June 22 caused has surpassed $20 million, a city official said. Nick Faust, assistant to the city manager, said that estimate was as of Thursday with about 300 structures damaged. Both figures might change as the city continues to assess damages. Janesville was the site of one of eight tornadoes across southern Wisconsin on June 22. There were estimated wind speeds of 115 mph in the Janesville tornado. It was on the ground for 11 minutes from 7:42-7:53 p.m. The outbreak of tornadoes spanned from Grant County on the Iowa state line all the way to Kenosha County. Two additional twisters touched down in Walworth County, one that tracked from the town of Delavan to Williams Bay and another that tracked from just east of Fontana to over Lake Como.

West Bend, Wi – It was September 2015 and an 80th reunion was held for the West Bend High School class of 1935. There were 86 students in the graduating class. Two remaining students, Lillian Moritz Oelhafen and Frieda Kaehny Hauser attended. They met for breakfast at Perkins Restaurant in West Bend. There were lots of memories shared by the 98-year-olds who reminisced about their days growing up and working in West Bend.

Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson is again calling on the state Legislature to pass stricter gun laws after the city experienced a violent week. At least 15 people were shot in Milwaukee on Wednesday and Thursday, according to the latest media update from the Milwaukee Police Department. A 25-year-old was also fatally shot on Wednesday afternoon and on Thursday a 1-year-old was injured in a shooting.
