Texans impacted by April 26 - June 5 storms may be eligible for FEMA's help to repair or replace car
Thousands of Texans whose vehicles were damaged by the flooding during the storms between April 26 and June 5 could be eligible for FEMA assistance to repair or replace them.According to a release by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, its financial help covers expenses not paid by insurance or other sources.SEE ALSO: Hurricane Beryl Recovery Fund launched after storm devastates 68,000 Harris County homes"The damage to the vehicle must have been caused by the disaster, and the vehicle must no longer be operable or safe to drive. Cosmetic repairs will not be covered," FEMA wrote.Some other conditions include:Assistance is usually limited to one vehicle. Dallas police investigate fatal shooting of 24-year-old man
DALLAS, Texas — A 24-year-old man was found shot and killed inside an apartment on Lake Avenue, Dallas police say. On July 16, 2024, at approximately 3:30 p.m., officers responded to a shooting call in the 4600 block of Lake Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered Ashton Barnes, 24, shot inside an apartment. Barnes was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a press release from the Dallas Police Department. There is currently no suspect description available.
