Alexandria’s Summer Sidewalk Sale is returning to Old Town and Del Ray next month, followed shortly by Alexandria Restaurant Week. The annual Alexandria Summer Sidewalk Sale is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 10, according to Visit Alexandria. The streets around Old Town and Del Ray will likely be lined with local boutiques setting up shop outside of their storefronts and offering discounted summer merchandise. Thanks to Charles for the update from the Columbia Heights Taco Bell:. “I went in a month or two ago and noticed they didn’t have liquor behind the counter, beer in the store, and the digital checkout and app didn’t show alcohol. I mentioned it when picking up my food and the employee gave an exasperated “yeeeeah,” which suggests selling alcohol came with issues and they stopped doing it. I have been in a few times since and they haven’t had it.”

A proposed bill that would help people with pets experiencing homelessness access D.C.’s shelter system is making its way through the D.C. Council, with a public hearing likely to take place this fall. The Pets in Housing Act, introduced by At-large D.C.
