July stabbing in Southeast DC leads to arrest, man faces murder charge: Police
WASHINGTON (7News) — A man was stabbed to death in Southeast, D.C. earlier this year. The man allegedly responsible has now been arrested. On July 1, D.C. officers said they responded to the 3100 block ofBuena Vista Terrace for the report of a stabbing. When they arrived, officers said they found a man, later identified as55-year-old Alfred Fields, in the street suffering from stab wounds.

New event space comes to life at Hybla Valley Center
Tucked away toward the rear of an unassuming Richmond Highway strip mall, a former mattress and furniture store has been transformed into a high-end event and meeting space. Known as Vista Banquet Hall, the new facility has been a labor of love for its owner, Lydia Kassa, who first started searching for a space to open it four years ago. A restaurateur by background — she also owns an Ethiopian restaurant in Falls Church — Kassa at first struggled to find a location with enough parking.
