Iowa school districts receive grants for therapeutic classrooms
The Iowa Department of Education is issuing its fourth round of competitive grants to ten school districts in the state to establish or continue therapeutic classrooms. Clinton and North Scott Community School Districts are receiving a portion of the $2.85 million for the 2024-2025 school year. Clinton is collecting $146,000, and North Scott is accepting $174,500.

Iowa isn't a state known for having a large population. With only 3.2 million residents, there are cities that have nearly far more residents. New York and Los Angeles for example. Chicago has nearly our populous, and if you live in Eastern Iowa, you're just a couple hours from such a massive number of folks in one area.
Twenty-five years of Iowa winters
On Aug. 15, Dave Havard of Centerville retired only two months short of working 25 years for the Iowa Department of Transportation. That equals spending thousands of hours plowing snow, tons and tons of snow, for 25 long Iowa winters, along with his many other duties during the rest of each year.
