    Twin Falls teacher lauded as ‘Most Valuable’ by telecommunications company

    A Twin Falls teachers was surprised with the honor of Most Valuable Educator during Teacher Appreciation Week.

    Nominated by local resident Tamara Harmon, Tiffany Patterson, the STEM teacher at South Hills Middle School , was awarded with the honor by TDS Telecommunications, LLC, on May 7 for her efforts toward making a difference for students and the community.

    Patterson “goes above and beyond to help kids transition through this time in their lives,” Harmon wrote in her nomination letter. “She understands that each student is an individual and adjusts her teaching to help as many kids as she can.”

    TDS not only awarded Patterson with the title but donated $1,000 to South Hills’ science, technology, engineering and math program.

    “Teacher Appreciation Week is a great opportunity to highlight the amazing work educators do in our schools every single day,” said Jessica Kaschmitter, associate manager of Field Marketing for TDS. “For years, Tiffany has gone the extra mile to help her students achieve, and we’re thrilled to shine a spotlight on her efforts through out Most Valuable Educator award.”

    TDS is currently working on a high-speed fiber internet network in Twin Falls, having launched the service in several neighborhoods, it reported. The company invests in the communities it operates within, sponsoring STEM programs and other needed areas.
