Due to excessive heat and dangerous conditions, Canyon County officials increased the fire danger to extreme on Wednesday for Celebration Park and Martin Landing.

Under extreme fire conditions, fires are prohibited outside of designated fire pits. Under the burn ban, portable fire pits, pallet fires, charcoal fires and rock ring fires are also prohibited, according to a new release issued Wednesday by Canyon County public information officials. However, propane camp stoves used for cooking will be allowed under the burn ban, Canyon County officials said.

Canyon County officials said the restrictions will likely remain in effect throughout the summer and were put in place to help protect Celebration Park and Martin Landing.
