The Idaho Law Foundation and Attorneys for Civic Education are hosting a Constitution Day event on Tuesday for Idaho teachers, students, attorneys and members of the public.

Constitution Day is a federal observance that recognizes the day delegates to the Constitutional Convention signed the document on Sept. 17, 1787.

The law groups are inviting members of the public to hear from Stephen Vladeck, a professor of law at Georgetown University, who will lead a discussion on the U.S. Constitution and how executive branch powers have evolved over time.

    When: 12:30-2 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 17
Where: Idaho State Capitol, Lincoln Auditorium

There will also be a livestream of the presentation, and a recording of the event will be made available for those who register. Registration and livestream information can be found on the Idaho Law Foundation’s website .

Proceeds of the event are donated to Attorneys for Civic Education to support civic education programs in Idaho. The event is:

    • Free for teachers in students
    • A suggested donation of $25 for other members of the public
    • A minimum donation of $25 for attorneys
