"If you give a child a book..." How would you finish this sentence?

At KIVI, we believe giving children books can take them new places, plant the seeds for future success and help break the cycle of poverty. Children who lack access to a variety of books spend far less time reading, resulting in lower reading proficiency and struggle to complete high school. Unfortunately, many children in low-income neighborhoods lack access to the books they need to become competent readers. Our annual “If You Give a Child a Book …” campaign, in partnership with the Scripps Howard Fund, puts books in the hands of these children.

The campaign helps local students build home libraries and fill them with books they have chosen themselves, reinforcing the work of local teachers by engaging kids in their own education.

It takes just $6 to provide students with a book of their choice. You can donate to support them on their reading journey by donating at kivitv.com/giveabook .

Let them read! Stop banning books!

YET, you ban specific books from children who may NEED the books to simply read, think on their needs, where a human interaction may do more harm to the child. It is NOT my responsibility to make children understand “LIFE “, it IS however, to help find books, that will let them learn more of themselves. You CANNOT change nor make a pebble into a person. Don’t force your child to be something they are not. However let them read, learn & allow them to be as they feel! I am against transferring surgery for a child until they are 18-21 years of age. I know of a person who at 11 years of age wanted to change from their birth gender to the other. They felt 100% at that time, it was a true feeling to make the change. However as the transition started early, making surgery of certain parts began SLOWLY, that as time passed, the age of 21 came about. AND wouldn’t you know it, the transition came to a halt! They went back to their birth gender with NO HESITATION whatsoever. LET THEM BE
