A month after reopening his recruitment, Owyhee senior Liam Campbell has found a new home.

After decommitting from USC in April, Campbell has committed to Saint Mary’s, reported by On3 — a database that tracks college recruiting nationwide — Friday afternoon.

Campbell is rated as a four-star recruit in the ESPN Top 100 for the Class of 2024, ranked 80th in the class. He is one of two recruits in the top 100 who had yet to commit to a school for this fall.

Since moving to Idaho as a sophomore, he’s done nothing but excel on the basketball court. He helped lead Owyhee in their first year as a program to a state title in the 2021-22 season. The 6-foot-4 guard averaged 17.4 points and 6.6 rebounds per game that season.

In his junior season, he raised his scoring average to 20.1 points per game and was named the 5A Southern Idaho Conference Player of the Year, leading the Storm to the state semifinals.

This past season, he averaged 16.8 points per game and was named the SIC Player of the Year and Idaho Player of the Year as Owyhee won a second state title in three years.

Campbell signed to play at USC in November, but opted to explore other opportunities once USC head coach Andy Enfield left the school to take the same job at SMU. Enfield was officially announced as the Mustangs head coach April 1. Two days later, Campbell requested a release from his National Letter of Intent, per On3.

USC announced Eric Musselman as their new head coach April 4, who was previously the head coach at Arkansas.
