Big games are on the horizon in the final two weeks of the regular season in the 6A Southern Idaho Conference. Four teams, two in each division, are 3-0 in 6A SIC play, with two going against each other this week.

In the Foothills Division, Rocky Mountain hosts Middleton. If the Vikings win, they would clinch a spot in the SIC Championship game as division champs. But it will be a tall task, since no one has been able to slow down the No. 1 Grizzlies. Rocky Mountain has won every game this season by at least 24 points, while averaging nearly 50 points per game themselves. Last week’s 31-7 win over Meridian was the Grizzlies’ smallest margin of victory this season.

The Vikings got past Timberline 21-14 last week behind 285 yards rushing from running back Jake Perez .

The Wolves are still technically alive for a spot in the SIC title game, but would need Rocky Mountain to win this week and Middleton to lose next week. Timberline hosts winless Centennial this Thursday and plays Rocky Mountain next week.

In the River Division, No. 2 Eagle and Borah remain 3-0. They won’t play each other until next week.

The Mustangs won a low-scoring affair with Owyhee last week to keep pace with the Lions. They host Kuna this week, who like Timberline need some help to have a shot at winning the division.

Borah visits Mountain View this week. The Lions’ win streak is up to five games following a 35-7 win over Kuna last week.

Owyhee and Boise face each other, both hoping to snap three-game losing streaks. Meridian is on a four-game losing streak and visits Capital.

    5A SIC

The conference picture in the 5A SIC will become much clearer after this week. The league’s two 3-0 teams, Vallivue and No. 1 Bishop Kelly, square off at Bishop Kelly High School. The Falcons have become a contender in head coach Shea McClellin’s first year with the school, hoping to knock off the two-time defending conference champions.

Below those two in the conference are Emmett (3-1) and Nampa (2-1). The Bulldogs host Ridgevue while the Huskies are on bye. They’ll play each other the following week.

    4A SNAKE RIVER VALLEY

There’s a new No. 1 in 4A following Weiser’s upset win over Homedale last week. Not only did the Wolverines snap an eight-game losing streak to the Trojans, they did so in dominant fashion. Weiser more than tripled Homedale’s time of possession, holding the ball for 38:25, compared to 9:25 for the Trojans in a 30-6 win.

With the win, Weiser rose to No. 5 in the state media poll, Homedale fell to No. 3 and Fruitland jumped to No. 1.

Another marquee matchup in the conference is slated for this week as the Grizzlies visit Homedale. Fruitland, the last remaining undefeated team in 4A, will put their perfect record to the test in perhaps the biggest game in 4A this season so far.

Weiser hopes to make it five wins in a row as it plays Cole Valley Christian on Saturday. McCall-Donnelly is still lurking around at 5-1 as it hosts Payette.

    3A WESTERN IDAHO CONFERENCE

The winner between Nampa Christian and Marsing this week controls their own destiny for a conference championship.

The Trojans travel to Marsing to take on the Huskies. If they improve to 3-0 in league play, Nampa Christian’s final hurdle to a conference championship would be New Plymouth (1-4) next week.

Marsing has three conference games to go, including this week. Melba and Parma remain on their schedule, who play each other this week. New Plymouth has a non-conference matchup with Kellogg this Saturday.
