The Marsh Valley boys basketball team has only been beaten by someone from Idaho once over the last six weeks.

But it will get a chance for payback. And thanks to the Eagles’ 58-47 road win against American Falls Wednesday night, it will now be for the 3A South East Idaho Conference championship.

They will host No. 1 Snake River (18-2 overall, 3-0 3A South East Idaho) at 7:30 p.m. Friday. The Panthers, who have the state’s longest winning streak at 15 games, beat them 74-66 a little more than a week ago on Jan. 31. It was a game where Marsh Valley entered the fourth quarter with a two-point lead.

Justis Whitworth logged a game-high 20 points in the win over the Beavers (12-8, 0-4) Wednesday. Kaden Bullock chipped in with 14 points and Kaden Hansen 11 for Marsh Valley, which could get a share of the league title with a win.

Beau Brower and Austin Adair had 14 points apiece for American Falls, which only has one win in its last six games.

WEST SIDE 52, SODA SPRINGS 48

Ivan Campbell racked up 18 points as the Pirates (12-9, 5-3 2A South East Idaho Conference) snapped a two-slide by upsetting the No. 1 team in the league Thursday.

Eli Brown added 14 points for West Side, which entered having lost three of its last four games.

Quinten Hansen had 17 points for the Cardinals (10-9, 5-3), who had won three of their last four games.

Cooper Thompson also reached double figures with 11 points in the loss.

    BLACKFOOT 69, BONNEVILLE 57

Carter Andersen led four players in double figures with a near triple-double of 18 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in the Broncos’ (8-12, 5-4 4A High Country Conference) conference win Wednesday night.

Sy Callister had 14 points, while Austin Arave and Dax Whitney finished with 12 points apiece.

    PRESTON 54, CENTURY 38

Reggie Larson netted 15 points as the second-ranked Indians (17-4, 4-0 4A South East Idaho Conference) finished the regular season unbeaten in league play Wednesday.

Preston will now be the No. 1 seed in the upcoming district tournament.

Elias Blackhawk and Jordan Wilkinson had 15 and 10 points, respectively for the Diamondbacks (5-15, 0-3), who have now lost eight of nine games.

    GIRLS BASKETBALL

    ROCKLAND 38, NORTH GEM 25

Calyn Permann had more than double the amount of points of any other player with 18 as the Bulldogs (13-10) moved on to the third-place game of the Class 1A DII District V-VI Tournament Wednesday.

Rockland will now play in a state play-in game Saturday.

Hayden Corta and Myken Rindlisbaker each had nine points for the Cowboys (11-12), whose season came to an end.
