    This week at the Bannock County Event Center

    Spend Mother’s Day at the track! Plus, team roping, barrel racing, and the annual Children’s Mental Health Wellness Wiggle is back at the Bannock County Event Center.

    Pocatello Downs — Saturday & Sunday, May 11-12

    Enjoy the spring weather at the race track! Pocatello Downs is back Saturday and Sunday for more racing. Gates open at 12 p.m., and the first post time is 1 p.m. Admission is $5, and children 12 and younger get in free. Concessions will be available. Moms get in free on Mother’s Day!

    BCRA Barrel Racing — Monday, May 13

    The Bannock County Rodeo Association (BCRA) is hosting barrel racing on Monday night at the Bannock County Event Center’s indoor arena. From 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., the public can watch cowboys and girls of all ages compete in barrel racing. Admission is free. For more information about the BCRA and its events, visit bcra.arenasoft.app.

    Load ‘em Team Roping — Wednesday, May 15

    Finally, it’s Wednesday: Time for Load ‘em in the Dark Cattle Company’s regular Wednesday night team roping, presented by Courtesy Ford & Lincoln. Team roping is held from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the Indoor Arena. Admission is free. For entry fees and more information, visit the Load ‘em in the Dark Cattle Co. Facebook page.

    RV Expo — Friday — Monday, May 17-20

    Camping World’s Spring RV Expo is coming to the Bannock County Event Center May 17th — May 20th in Pocatello, ID. Tour over 25 fully staged new & pre-owned RVs, take advantage of special RV expo pricing, enter to win a new RV, and more! Admission and parking is free. Open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.     Load ‘em Barrel Races — Saturday & Sunday, May 18-19

    Load ‘em in the Dark Cattle Company is hosting a weekend of barrel racing at the Bannock County Event Center’s Indoor Arena. Join them for the fun on Saturday night at 6 p.m. and Sunday morning at 10 a.m. Admission is free. For entry fees and more information, visit the Load ‘em in the Dark Cattle Co. Facebook page.

    Children’s Wellness Wiggle — Saturday, May 18

    Southeastern Idaho Public Health is hosting the annual Wellness Wiggle at the Portneuf Wellness Complex on Saturday, May 18. Stop by between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. for activities, raffle prizes, and to get connected with children’s support services. More information will be released on Southeastern Idaho Public Health’s webpage.

    Pocatello Downs — Saturday, May 18

    Bring the family to the race track for Pocatello Downs! There will be stick horse races for the kids, and Idaho State Police will visit to promote Idaho Racing! Gates open at 12 p.m., and the first post time is 1 p.m. Admission is $5, and children 12 and younger get in free. Concessions will be available.

    Facility updates: The renovations to the grandstands at the race track are complete! Check them out when you join us for the Pocatello Downs horse races. Crews have begun construction on the Portneuf Greenway’s “Connecting Communities” trail that will connect the Portneuf Wellness Complex to Idaho State University. We’re very excited to see progress on this fantastic project.
