Montpelier's Cook Customs attracting customers from near and far

MONTPELIER — After five years in business, Cook Customs LLC has found success throughout Bear Lake County and even as far as southern Utah and Wyoming.

Miles Cook, owner of the business, said he first started Cook Customs back in 2019. His car detailing business offers several services for cars including ceramic coating, paint corrections and accessory installations.

"I've always had an interest in car restoration and classic cars," Cook said. "From an early age, I had an interest in cars and making them look shiny and new."

Cook, who worked in the oil industry before he opened Cook Customs, said it's always been a dream of his to own a business.

"In 2019, I decided it was time to make it happen," he said.

The business has served people in multiple areas in and around Bear Lake County. Cook said he has customers from as far away as Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and southern Utah.

"I've had tons of interest in all the Bear Lake Valley as well as the surrounding areas," Cook said. "People have found me on social media and through word of mouth."

The most common services that Cook is asked to perform on the vehicles he works on are interior and exterior work where he cleans the inside and outside of the car. Another common service is a ceramic coating.

"That's a common one that people like to do to new vehicles," Cook said. "It's the best way to protect the vehicle from the elements that we have around here."

Most of the vehicles that Cook works on are either pickup trucks or SUVs.

"I like working on all of them, but I especially like the pickups because that's what I drive," he said.

Cook said his favorite part about operating Cook Customs is seeing the reaction from his customers when they come to pick up their vehicles after he's finished working on them.

"Most comment that it looks better than new. That's the first reason. The second reason is it's a fun, enjoyable job," Cook said about why he enjoys his work.
