Pilot and three firefighters injured when helicopter crash lands east of Burley after battling Nevada wildfire

The pilot of a helicopter and three firefighters on board the aircraft were injured after a crash landing about 25 miles east of Burley on Friday evening, authorities said.

The incident occurred when the helicopter was returning to Pocatello from the Stockdale Fire in Nevada, according to a news release from the U.S. Forest Service.

Emergency personnel responded to the incident and transported the helicopter pilot and the three Forest Service firefighters onboard to Cassia Regional Hospital in Burley, where they were treated and released, authorities said.

The U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management and National Transportation Safety Board officials are actively investigating the incident.
