MONTPELIER — Lynn and Darla Lloyd, local residents who have been heavily involved in the Bear Lake County Fair in Montpelier for decades, have been announced as the grand marshals for this year's fair.

According to a news release from the Bear Lake County Fair, the Lloyds have been married since 1976. They have five children, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. They met in Dingle where Lynn's family owned a ranch. They still live there to this day.

Lynn worked in several different places throughout his life. He worked at the Beckers Plant at the beginning of his marriage to Darla. He later worked at the Ream Ranch for 27 years before working at Bear Lake Motors for 20 years before retiring.

Darla worked as a bus driver for the Bear Lake County School District for 35 years while raising their five children.

The Lloyds have been involved with the fair for many years. Lynn was the livestock sale chairman for 30 years. Darla was on the fair board for 13 years. She also timed the high school rodeos from 1998 to 2021.

The Bear Lake County Fair will start on Monday, Aug. 12, at 9 a.m. with the 4-H Horse Show. The fair will continue through Saturday, Aug. 17.
