The new Dutch Bros. Coffee in Pocatello opened its doors Friday morning with no shortage of customers ordering the promotional $3 16-ounce drinks.

“We’re just overflowing with joy and our parking lot is overflowing (with customers),” said Dutch Bros. local operator Tonya Thomason. “It’s been a longtime coming, so we feel thankful to be here and thankful for the community’s support.”

The Pocatello Dutch Bros. is at 4010 Yellowstone Ave. on the city’s north side between the Les Schwab tire store and Snake River Rapid Car Wash.

Dutch Bros. is based in Oregon and now has 37 locations in Idaho, including two in Idaho Falls. A Rexburg location is coming soon.

Thomason said Dutch Bros. is excited to become a big part of the Pocatello community.

“We are excited to share our love for a new community. Every city needs to experience the Dutch Love,” Thomason said.

Dutch Bros. is entering a crowded coffee market in the Pocatello area, with about 10 privately owned coffee shops and several Starbucks, including one about 100 yards from the Pocatello Dutch Bros.

Thomason and Dutch Bros. welcome the competition and are excited about the future.

“There is room for us all,” Thomason said about the abundance of coffee shops in the Gate City area.

Thomason, who’s from Oregon where Dutch Bros. was founded, has been with the company for 21 years and has been a part of many grand openings.

She said the grand opening of the Pocatello location was a major success, describing it as a “10 out of 10.”

Too bad they don't have plain black iced tea. Their black tea is a blend with passion fruit in it yuk!
