WENDELL — Idaho State Police are investigating an injury crash that occurred at 3:36 p.m. on August 24, 2024, on eastbound Interstate 84 at milepost 154 west of Wendell.

A 59-year-old male from Murfreesboro, TN, was driving eastbound on I-84 in a Red 2019 Volvo tractor pulling a single trailer. A 59-year-old female from Eagle, ID, was driving in the left lane next to the semi-truck, in a white 1998 Subaru Legacy.

The semi-truck failed to maintain lanes and the Subaru swerved to try and avoid a collision but struck the semi’s trailer and went into the median.

Westbound I84 was blocked for approximately forty minutes. The eastbound lanes were blocked for approximately two and a half hours. Both east and westbound lanes are open.

This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
