    PREP FOOTBALL ROUNDUP: Marsh Valley 2-0 for the first time in four years with win over reigning state runner-up

    The Marsh Valley football team is 2-0 for the first time in four years following a 39-35 win over reigning Class 4A state runner-up Teton Friday night at home.

    Bo Larsen led the way with 192 yards and a touchdown on the ground for the Eagles, who pulled off the win after outsourcing the Timberwolves (0-3) 15-0 in the fourth quarter.

    Cooper Bowman threw for three touchdowns and 108 yards with Kaden Hansen as his go-to receiver with 60 yards and a score. His other two touchdown were to Wyatt Marshall and Eli Hadley.

    SKYLINE 42, BLACKFOOT 0

    The Broncos (1-1) only had 135 yards of total offense in their first loss of the season Friday night at home.

    They also had less than 50 yards on special teams in the loss.

    ABERDEEN 8, DECLO 0

    The fourth-ranked Tigers (2-0) won a top-5 showdown with an 8-0 shutout of the No. 2 Hornets in their home opener Friday night.

    Lupe Ortiz secured the win with an interception in the endzone with seven seconds remaining.

    Luke Shackelford scored the game’s lone touchdown on a 20-yard run with about four minutes left in regulation.

    AMERICAN FALLS 20, FILER 14

    Zak Grigg scored all three of the Beavers’ (2-1) touchdowns on runs in a nonconference win at home Friday night.

    Grigg also sealed the win on an interception with 20 seconds remaining in the game.

    CANYON RIDGE 41, CENTURY 13

    The Diamondbacks (0-3) were up 13-12 in the third quarter before falling for their 12th consecutive loss Friday night on the road.

    The losing streak, which is the worst in program history, extends all the way back to the end of the 2022 season. Century’s last win was a 33-13 victory over Preston on Oct. 7, 2022.

    No other Century stats were reported.

    BEAR LAKE 46, SALMON 0

    The Bears (1-2) picked up their first win of the season by piling up 490 yards of total offense at home Friday night.

    No other Bear Lake stats were reported.

    GRACE 50, MURTAUGH 26

    The fifth-ranked Grizzlies (2-1) rebounded from their first loss of the season with a win at home Friday night.

    No other Grace stats were reported.

    POCATELLO 35, IDAHO FALLS 16

    Hunter May accounted for 239 yards of total offense and three touchdowns, as the No. 5 Thunder (2-0) won on the road Friday night.

    He went 11-of-21 for 179 yards and a touchdown through the air, while running for another 60 and a pair of scores.

    Hunter Cordell was his primary target with five catches for 71 yards.

    DIETRICH 30, ROCKLAND 26

    Aidan Radford racked up 10 catches for 176 yards and a pair of touchdowns, but it wasn’t quite enough as the No. 2 Bulldogs (1-1) lost a top-2 showdown to the top-ranked team in the state Friday night on the road.

    David Jensen nearly eclipsed the century mark on the ground with 96 yards and two scores. Zackary Permann went 11-of-30 for 203 yards and two touchdowns through the air in the loss.

    STAR VALLEY (WY.) 49, PRESTON 13

    Reggie Larsen hauled in five catches for 90 yards and a touchdown, as the Indians (0-3) remained winless with a loss at home Friday night.

    Carter Perry went 22-of-35 for 215 yards, a touchdown and three interceptions. He also ran for another 22 yards and a score on the ground.

    Conner Iverson was the team’s leading rusher with 68 yards on 21 carries.

    RIRIE 46, MALAD 14

    Brady Showell ran for 60 yards and a touchdown, as the Dragons (1-1) fell for the first time this season on the road Friday night.

    Dawsyn Peterson added 31 receiving yards and a touchdown in the loss.

    SHOSHONE 28, NORTH GEM 14

    The Cowboys (1-1) fell for the first time this season with a loss on the road Friday night.

    No other North Gem stats were reported.

    FIRTH 43, SODA SPRINGS 0

    The Cardinals (0-3) suffered their 11th straight loss Friday night at home.

    The losing streak extends all the way back to the end of the 2022 season. Their last win was a 46-13 victory over Marsing on Oct. 21, 2022.

    No other Soda Springs stats were reported.

    WEST SIDE 30, SOUTH FREMONT 6

    Crew Sage racked up 140 total yards of offense and a pair of touchdowns, as the top-ranked Pirates (2-0) won their home opener Friday night.

    Sage had 83 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Younger brother Drake Sage ran for 82 yards himself in the win.
