CHUBBUCK — A cow twice escaped its pasture on Monday night in Chubbuck but was persuaded to return home after both incidents.

The bovine definitely got some exercise as it roamed Chubbuck, surprising local residents not accustomed to seeing a farm animal wandering the city’s streets.

The cow was initially reported around 8 p.m. near Chubbuck City Hall following its first escape.

Chubbuck police and area residents responded and tried to corral the animal.

The cow’s owner then showed up and with the help of police and onlookers, the bovine was persuaded to return to its pasture on nearby East Linden Avenue.

Then around 9:30 p.m. the cow got loose a second time.

Police again responded and the animal was again persuaded to return home.

The bovine appeared to be uninjured following its escapes and as of 10 p.m. remained safely in its pasture.
