Blackfoot Public Library looking to purchase bronze statue of young boy to welcome patrons
BLACKFOOT — The Blackfoot Public Library could soon have a new bronze statue of a little boy named Arthur to welcome local bookworms and library patrons. The statue, named “A Hero’s Journey,” was created by Shelley artist Daniel Borup and is currently on display at the CJ Art Gallery within the Candy Jar on 105 NW Main St. in Blackfoot. Idaho State Police seek information about pedestrian struck on Highway 26
Idaho State Police are seeking information on a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle on U.S. Highway 26 Friday near the border of Wyoming. The incident occurred between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m., according to a press release. The impact was minor, so the driver may not have known they had struck someone. An unknown vehicle was traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 26 behind a pickup truck, police said. The pickup swerved left to avoid the pedestrian on the side of the highway. The unknown vehicle swerved to the right and struck the pedestrian. The driver did not remain on scene. Idaho State Police ask anyone in the area around this time who witnessed anything that may be related or has any information that may be helpful to call dispatch at (208) 528-3408.
