POCATELLO — A 19-year-old local man was recently arrested after police say he bit two officers and lied about his age following a disturbance on Friday.

Hunter Christian Roberts-Albano, of Pocatello, has been charged with two counts of battery on a police officer and one count of providing false information to law enforcement following the incident.

Pocatello police were dispatched to a home in north Pocatello around 11:17 p.m. Friday for the report of a disturbance and made contact with a woman and Roberts-Albano, according to police records the Idaho State Journal recently obtained.

Both the woman and Roberts-Albano told officers that they were intoxicated during the course of the officers’ investigation and Roberts-Albano told officers that he was 23, though he provided a date of birth that did not match the age he said he was, police said.

Officers asked Roberts-Albano to exit the residence several times to receive a citation for providing false information but he refused, resulting in officers grabbing him to place him under arrest, the report says.

As officers grabbed Roberts-Albano, he attempted to retreat back into the residence and resisted arrest, fighting with officers, during which he bit one officer on his right index finger and another officer on a knuckle, police said.

Roberts-Albano was then placed into handcuffs without further incident, charged for biting the officers and arrested.

He was transported to the Bannock County Jail in Pocatello.

Roberts-Albano appeared in front of 6th District Magistrate Judge David Hooste for an arraignment hearing on Monday, during which he was ordered to be released from jail on his own recognizance.

He is due back in court on Aug. 1 for a preliminary hearing that will involve local prosecutors attempting to prove there is enough evidence against him to elevate the case from the magistrate to district court level for trial.

If convicted of the two felony charges, he faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $100,000.
