Idaho commission accepting comments for Rocky Mountain Power’s wildfire mitigation plan

The Idaho Public Utilities Commission is accepting public comments until mid-September on Rocky Mountain Power’s 2024 to 2026 Idaho Wildfire Mitigation Plan.

The eastern Idaho utility is using the plan to mitigate wildfire risks and to offer information on investments to build, maintain and operate electrical equipment efficiently to mitigate that risk, according to a press release from the utilities commission.

The plan also includes information about inspection procedures, vegetation management practices, system hardening efforts, public safety power shutoff protocols, cost forecasts and other technical information related to mitigating wildfires.

The utilities commission is accepting comments until Sept. 12. To comment, visit the Idaho Public Utilities Commission website and click on the “Case Comment Form” link on the upper left side of the page. Use case number PAC-E-24-09 when filing the form.
