With all three concerts sold out in advance, this week’s Albertsons Boise Open was looking to be another outdoor music bonanza.

But one of the shows just got canceled.

Pop singer Daryl Hall, who was slated to headline Friday at Hillcrest Country Club, will not perform, his manager, Jonathan Wolson, announced Thursday in a prepared statement.

“Daryl Hall felt ill during his show last night in Vancouver, which resulted in canceling the rest of his set after three songs. Unfortunately, he tested positive for COVID and will have to cancel the Albertsons Boise Open on Friday. ... Daryl feels horrible about having to cancel and would like to thank the many concerned fans for their well wishes.”

All Friday tickets are still good for watching Korn Ferry Tour golf during the day, according to a press release. Ticket holders no longer interested in attending can request a refund. Visit albertsonsboiseopen.com for details. The release specifies that 100% of ticket sales go to local Boise charities.

Organizers had expected 8,000 to 10,000 people for the Hall concert, according to Ryan Fowler, director of marketing and communications for event producer Jeff Sanders Entertainment Inc.

An iconic vocalist, Hall, 77, is best known for his hugely successful duo, Hall & Oates, which had a string of hits in the 1970s and 1980s including “Rich Girl,” “Maneater,” “Out of Touch,” “I Can’t Go for That (No Can Do)“ and many more. A Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, he’s also known for his long-running web-turned-TV series, “Live from Daryl’s House.”

The Albertsons Boise Open began Thursday and continues through Sunday. Sold-out concerts by Jon Pardi (Thursday) and Goo Goo Dolls (Saturday) are still set to happen as planned.
