The Boise Police Department is investigating a fatal crash involving a garbage truck and a motorcyclist in Southeast Boise.

At around 12:30 p.m. Monday, officers responded to the intersection of South Millbrook Way and East Warm Springs Avenue after the motorcyclist struck the passenger side of the garbage truck, according to a news release from the Boise Police Department. The truck was headed northbound on Millbrook and the motorcycle was westbound on Warm Springs, the release said.

The motorcycle rider was “seriously injured” and despite medical assistance, died from his injuries, the release said. The Ada County Coroner’s Office is expected to release the man’s identity once his family has been notified.

Nobody has been cited or charged with a crime in the crash, which remains under investigation, according to police.

Members of the Boise police violent crimes unit, crash reconstruction team, unmanned aerial vehicle unit and community service officers responded, the release said.

There is one stop sign on East Warmsprings Ave. and it is a four-way stop. I think this intersection is a two-way stop. Kind of sounds like the motorcyclist ran the stop sign.
