    Boise ranked second-best city in America to drive in, according to new study

    The city of Boise has been named the second-best city in the country to drive in , according to a study conducted by WalletHub.

    To create the ranking of best and worst cities to drive in, WalletHub analysts complied data from the U.S. Census Bureau , the FBI and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration . A sample of the 100 most-populated U.S. cities across four key factors including the cost of ownership and maintenance, traffic and infrastructure, safety and access to vehicles or maintenance.

    Boise has the lowest likelihood of having an accident, at nearly 23% below the national average, according to the analysis. The city also has the lowest traffic fatality rate in the country, the lowest percentage of uninsured drivers and the third-lowest prevalence of hard-braking incidents.

    “This makes the city an extremely safe place for drivers. Vehicles are also safe even when unoccupied, as Boise has the fourth-lowest theft rate,” states the WalletHub findings.

    The city of trees is also an inexpensive city for drivers, as it has the second-lowest average car insurance premium, with the 13th-lowest average cost of a new car, and the fifth-lowest additional vehicle operating costs. Commuters also have the luxury of a smooth transit with the city having the 20th-shortest commute time and 20th-best roads in the America.

    How do other cities rank for driving?

    The city of Raleigh, North Carolina managed to beat Boise for the top spot as the best city in America to drive in, the study showed. The next three best cities in the country to drive in - after Boise - are Corpus Christi, Texas; Greensboro, North Carolina; and Jacksonville, Florida.
