IDER, Ala. (WHNT) — The Ider Police Department (IPD) says it arrested a man Tuesday after an incident at a local gas station led to a foot chase.

IPD said Kenneth Knight was arrested Tuesday after the incident at Mayo’s Food Mart.

According to the department, officers observed a man, later identified as Knight, walking toward the service station armed with a knife. The department said officers approached the man and asked what he was doing but he “replied ‘**** you’, and ran into the woods.”

Multiple agencies responded to the area and eventually located Knight. IPD said Knight was tased due to continually attempting to run from and resist officers. The department said after Knight was taken into custody officers found digital scales and methamphetamine on his person.

IPD said Knight was wanted by the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office, the Rainsville Police Department, and Sylvania Police Department for various charges.

The department said Knight was booked into the DeKalb County Detention Facility without incident.
