Single Vehicle Crash Claimed Life of Fort Payne Man
Fort Payne, Al. – A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 2:49 a.m. Saturday, July 13, has claimed the life of a Fort Payne man. Cody W. Ashley, 19, was fatally injured when the 2020 Nissan Maxima he was driving left the roadway, struck a utility pole, a tree and then overturned. Ashley was pronounced deceased at the scene. A 16-year-old juvenile, who was a passenger in the Nissan, was injured and transported to an area hospital for treatment. Ashley was being pursued by a Police Officer with the Fort Payne Police Department at the time of the crash.
Benton man killed in Marshall Co. collision
A Benton man was killed in a head-on collision on U.S. 68 West in Marshall County Friday. According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, it happened near Darnall Road when a vehicle operated by 50-year-old Gedget Quigley of Paducah drifted into the westbound lane while traveling eastbound on U.S. 68.
