Powells Crossroads Police Struck During Pursuit of Motorcycle
On June 10, 2024, at approximately 2:35 PM a Whitwell Police officer observed a motorcycle traveling southbound on Valley View Hwy towards Jasper with no license plate displayed. The officer initiated a traffic stop on the bike at Butterfly Ln. The bike pulled over and acted like it was complying. When the officer opened the vehicle door to exit, the driver took off at a high rate of speed Northbound on Valley View towards HWY 28.
