Gearbox Software and 2K have officially announced Borderlands 4, the latest entry in the acclaimed looter-shooter series. Slated for a 2025 release, Borderlands 4 will land on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. The announcement, accompanied by a teaser trailer showcasing a new planetary setting, was made during gamescom’s Opening Night Live. This entry marks the seventh game in the franchise, which has sold over 87 million copies to date. Players will once again step into the role of a Vault Hunter, seeking alien treasures and engaging in the series’ signature explosive combat. Borderlands 4 has been officially shown off at Gamescom 2024! With a 2025 release year provided, we might see this game far sooner than expected. Having recently teased that Borderlands 4 could be announced, this is still a big reveal for the gaming world. This announcement is well-timed with the recent release of the Borderlands movie.
