The Real Reason Jennifer Lopez & Ben Affleck Are Waiting To Announce Split

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have a few details to iron out before they officially announce their alleged separation.

An inside source told Entertainment Tonight that they "want to make sure everything is seamless" (with respect towards loved ones) before setting the situation in stone.

"They want to make sure everything is seamless when they do, especially with everyone involved . Neither of them want this process to be rushed. They are treating the separation with as much grace, understanding, and gentleness as they can."

The source continued:

"They want to make sure the kids are comfortable with the transition and where they are living, etcetera. They don't want to make it feel like they're pulling the rug from underneath their children. They're making a mutual effort to ensure that this transition is as healthy and easy as possible."

Affleck recently purchased a new home near ex Jennifer Garner to be closer to the former pair's children, Violet , 18, Seraphina , 15, and Samuel , 12. An additional source revealed that the purchase, despite how new it is, has already been a positive step forward for the famed actor.

"Ben really likes his new home and feels hopeful about the change. It’s been a hard time for him, but he’s continuing to make his wellbeing and his family a priority. Ben wanted to be closer to his kids with his new home and wanted a new, fresh, personal space where he can focus on work and be in his most creative zone without any outside distractions."

Lopez, also searching for an updated space she can call her own (since the sale of she and Affleck's joint property in July ), celebrated her 55th birthday a few weeks ago and is hopeful for a "fresh start" as breakup buzz proceeds.

The pair continue to handle the situation with patience and grace as they ready for their official split announcement on their own time.
