Juvenile and Mannie Fresh will never forget how they created an anthem that continues to impact fans to this day.

The Cash Money artists opened up about the origin of "Back That Azz Up" during their conversation with The Breakfast Club on Monday morning, August 12. Mannie Fresh said he always knew the song would still have women twerking 25 years later despite Juvie's initial thoughts about the record. The duo also discussed how they made the track three times prior to the version fans know today. They even shared how a young Lil Wayne got on the track.

"Wayne was hanging around the studio making sure he got on it," Juvenile said.

"He was like 'There's no way this is going down without me on this song,'" Mannie added. "I think he saw it as well. For him to hang around. Nobody else there. He just hanging around in the back. Then when it was complete, [he] just popped up like a leprechaun or some s**t like 'Boom check this out' (laughs)."

Later on in the conversation, Juvenile and Mannie Fresh discuss their upcoming "Back That Azz Up 25th Anniversary Tour." The Louisiana natives announced the 60-city run on the song's anniversary in June. The tour began in July and will hit up major cities across North America before it wraps up in New Orleans on New Year's Eve. Juvie made the tour announcement on the same day he was presented with a proclamation that declared June 11 as "Back That Azz Up Day" in their hometown. The 49-year-old rapper says he plans to celebrate the occasion at Shakespeare Park, which is the place where they shot the iconic music video in 1999.

Juvenile and Mannie Fresh also open up about the status of Hot Boys following the underwhelming reunion during the Cash Money celebration at Essence Fest last month. Check out the entire conversation below.
