Dr. Dre has dreams of becoming an Olympian after he fueled the hype for the upcoming Summer Games in his hometown.

In an interview Entertainment Tonight aired on Tuesday, August 13, the Aftermath Records founder revealed that he wants to try out for USA's archery team to compete in the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. Dre opened up about his affinity for archery and explained how he got involved in the sport while he was in junior high school.

“I’m dead-ass serious,” he told ET's Nischelle Turner. “I actually started playing around with archery in junior high."

“I stopped for a while, and my son bought me a setup — I don’t know if was for my birthday or Father’s Day or something like that," he continued. "So I have it set up in my backyard. I heard that qualifying for the Olympics is 77 feet, and I practice at 90. Wouldn’t that be interesting to go, especially with it being here in L.A., and win the gold medal?"

Dre feels like he "can do anything" especially after he helped close out the 2024 Olympics with his homie Snoop Dogg . The duo hit the stage together and performed "The Next Episode" during the closing ceremony in Los Angeles . Snoop & Dre were part of an iconic lineup of performers including H.E.R. , Red Hot Chili Peppers and Billie Eilish . Dre revealed that the performance was pre-recorded the day before it aired and credited the Olympic Committee for keeping it a secret for that long.

"It's magical. I don't even feel comfortable performing without Snoop," Dre said. "Something about the synergy that me and Snoop have is really interesting."

"I was wondering how [The Olympic Committee] were gonna do that and nobody had cell phones or anything like that," he added. "It was filmed the day before it aired. So trying to keep that a secret for that amount of time seems like it would've been impossible, but they made it happen!"

Dre closed out by talking about his Gin & Juice brand and giving a status update on his upcoming album with Snoop Dogg. The duo have been working on a project called Missionary for the past year or so. Dre said they're finalizing the album and plan to drop it on the 31st anniversary of Doggystyle in November.
