Demi Lovato Officially Reveals If They'll Ever Tour Again In New Clip

That seems to be the question on everyone's mind after the "Sorry Not Sorry" standout reveled new information regarding the future of their career, family, and more during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday (August 14).

The outlet candidly revealed that Lovato, who uses she/they pronouns, isn't sure she'll ever tour again after citing the toll it's taken on her body with age being a factor.

"I'm not 15 anymore," the star mentioned towards the end of the tell-all.

Lovato has taken a step back from music and entertainment in recent years to foster important connections and put her wellbeing first, but detailed that she is currently working on a few new songs to pay the bills.

"Sometimes I think it’s time for me to move on, but I’m in this weird position in my career because I still rely on music for my income." Despite being unsure about the future of their touring career, the icon did detail a healthier approach towards music and acting upon addressing lingering "daddy issues".

"Now that I’ve dealt with those daddy issues, I don’t need the industry as much as I once did, and I’m proud of myself for getting here." Lovato announced her engagement to singer-songwriter Jordan "Jutes" Lutes in December 2023 , and also commented on whether she'll allow her future children to be involved in the music an entertainment industry at a young age as she was.

"I'd say, 'Let's study music theory and prepare you for the day you turn 18, because it’s not happening before that. Not because I don’t believe in you or love you or want you to be happy, but because I want you to have a childhood, the childhood that I didn’t have."

The "Heart Attack" hitmaker got her start on Barney & Friends when she was just six years old, and went on to become a Disney star in her teens, fronting films like Princess Protection Program , and Camp Rock , and series Sonny with a Chance , all while propelling an ever-evolving music career.

"I was filled with gratitude, and there was this sense of wonder and excitement . It was very much the honeymoon phase of my career, right before the train got moving in a way where I couldn’t pump the brakes."

Lovato has been very open about their struggle with addiction and depression amid putting on a good face for the camera. She plans to dive further into the topics of childhood stardom, challenges she's faced along her journey, and encouraging other Hollywood greats to share their stories in her upcoming Disney documentary, Child Star , out September 17th.
