Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews was "involved in a car accident" en route to the team's practice Wednesday (August 14) morning, the Ravens announced in a statement shared on their social media accounts.

"Mark Andrews was involved in a car accident while driving to the Under Armour Performance Center early Wednesday morning," the team said. "Andrews was evaluated by medical staff at the Ravens' training facility and did not sustain any apparent injuries. He later joined the team for morning meetings."

Andrews was already scheduled for a non-practice day on Wednesday prior to the crash and is expected to return to practice "in the coming days," the Ravens confirmed.

"I appreciate everyone's thoughts and well wishes," Andrews said in a statement shared by the team. "This is a great reminder about the importance of wearing seatbelts and remaining alert while driving a car."

Andrews recorded 45 receptions for 544 yards and six touchdowns -- the most receiving among any Ravens player -- during the 2023 season. The former Oklahoma University standout was a first-team All-Pro in 2021 and selected to the Pro Bowl three times in 2019, 2021 and 2022.

The Ravens are scheduled to host the Atlanta Falcons in a preseason game at M&T Bank Stadium on Saturday (August 17).
