Shannen Doherty's Mom Speaks Out For First Time Since Actress' Death

Shannen Doherty 's mother, Rosa Doherty , is continuing her daughter's legacy just as she promised the star before her tragic passing last month .

Rosa (joined by her daughter's friend Anne Marie Kortright ) appeared on Shannen's beloved iHeartRadio podcast, Let's Be Clear with Shannen Doherty , on Wednesday (August 14), standing out as the first time she's publicly spoken about her loved one since that fatal July day. The matriarch noted that she promised to continue the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum's legacy, despite not being as "well-spoken" as the actress was.

"I am going to be doing my best to try to continue this for her because that’s what we discussed she wanted me to do. Of course, I’m not her. I could never be her. I’m not as well-spoken as she was, but I’m here for all of you."

Rosa was sure to highlight the positive impact that the podcast had on her daughter amid her "painful" battle with stage four breast cancer.

"It meant so much to me because I got to watch her do this when it was so special for her. And helped her so much through everything she was going through."

Speaking on her daughter's unmatched legacy, Rosa shared:

"Her legacy will be the love that she gave to everybody that she knew and the love that she gave to people that she didn’t know. I really want to keep up with you guys and you guys to keep up with us and know what’s going on and continue the love that Shannen had."

Shannen and her mother appeared to be very close, as depicted in a 2023 Instagram post where the Charmed standout referred to Rosa as "the best mom in the world," stating, "I love you to the moon and back times infinity.”
