Alicia Silverstone sparked concern with fans this week after she shared a video of herself eating a berry that many claimed to be "poisonous."

The Clueless star worried fans when she shared a video on TikTok on Monday (August 19) of her finding a mysterious berry while walking in England that she "can't figure out." Showing off the small orange fruit that slightly resembled a cherry tomato, she asked for fans' help identifying what it could be, per Page Six .

"I've discovered something, and I can't figure out what it is, and I need your help," she said, holding up what she thought could have been a tomato with a small bite taken out of it that revealed seeds inside. "I just bit into it because it was on the street."

Silverstone concluded that it's "definitely not" a tomato based on what the plant looks like but is still curious about "what the heck is this?" She then took another bite to say it's "almost like a pepper" while also acknowledging "I don't think you're supposed to eat this."

Fans flooded the comments of the video wondering why someone would "just [pick] something they don't what it is and [eat] it" and that "eating random stuff from bushes when you don't know what it is, is a level of non anxiety that I can only aspire to."

Several commenters said the berry could be a Jerusalem cherry, a species of nightshade that could be "poisonous" and "toxic." The Northern New England Poison Center states that the fruit is "harmful to eat" and ingesting a small amount of berries or leaves could cause one to "feel sick to [their] stomach, throw up or have diarrhea" while a consuming a larger amount could cause hallucinations, drowsiness and "problems with your heart rate," per People .

As of time Tuesday afternoon, Silverstone has not shared an update after consuming the potentially toxic berry while representatives for the actress didn't immediately respond to People for a comment.
