Jelly Roll said it was “absolutely unbelievable,” to be part of Eminem ’s “Somebody Save Me.”

The iconic rapper and producer sampled Jelly Roll’s award-winning single, “Save Me,” which he released on Whitsitt Chapel as a duet with Lainey Wilson, in the genre-blending song he released earlier this summer. Eminem’s “Somebody Save Me” is one of 19 tracks that appears on The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) , which arrived in July. Jelly Roll wrote in a post on X, formerly Twitter, on July 12, “I can’t believe I’m on Eminem’s album.”

“I related to every word Eminem wrote. I understand him and felt like he understood me, which was rare cause I spent most of my life feeling misunderstood,“ Jelly Roll said, in part, in a July 12 Instagram post. “So you can imagine how I felt when I got that the call that Eminem would be sampling my song ‘Save Me’ on his new album. And for him to use the song to discuss the other side of what could’ve happened if he would’ve allowed his demons to win brought me to tears.”

“This is absolutely unbelievable— I’m honored to be part of this project with [Eminem],” the Whitsitt Chapel star said as he previewed the music video on Instagram on Tuesday evening (August 20). The video premiered on Wednesday morning (August 21). It offers a poignant visual of moments Eminem missed with his kids, his brother and his nephews — including home videos — because of his career and other struggles. The video ends with a nod to Better Help for online therapy. Watch it here (warning: language).
