Fat Joe is the latest rap legend to receive a key to his hometown.

The Terror Squad boss was in The Bronx, N.Y. on Tuesday night, August 20, to headline Rise Up NYC at Orchard Beach. Ahead of his set, Mayor Eric Adams honored Joey Crack by presenting him with the Key to New York City.

"I gotta thank the pioneers," Joe said after he accepted the key. "From Melle Mel to KRS-One , LL COOL J , Heavy D , and the list goes on. I want to shout out everybody here because we in the Bronx and I know I know all of you. Everyone last one of you. I love you."

Fat Joe went on to perform a slew of hits including "My Lifestyle," "Make It Rain," and his most recent single "Outta Control." The key is another accolade from the seasoned rapper's incredible winning streak in 2024. It comes a few months after Joe received his honorary doctorate degree from Lehman College in the Bronx.

"God is the Greatest!" he wrote in his Instagram caption. "I promised my moms a Diploma & who would have thought i would have a Doctorate. I’d like to thank Lehman College for this humbling experience 🙏🏽"

In addition to his awards and recognitions, Fat Joe is also making a name for himself in the world of politics. Earlier this year, Joe was invited by presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris to moderate a panel about criminal justice reform at The White House. He also spoke with President Joe Biden after he performed during the former candidate's rally in North Carolina in June. Of course, he continues to make a difference with his work for "Power of the Patients" as an avid spokesperson.
