Watch Carrie Underwood's 'Show-Stopping' 'Sunday Night Football' Teaser

Carrie Underwood is kicking off the countdown to her 12th consecutive Sunday Night Football show open.

The powerhouse singer-songwriter and NBC shared a Sunday Night Football teaser on Instagram on Sunday evening (August 25). “The wait is almost over… the countdown to Sunday Night in Detroit starts now. 🤩 🏈” Sunday Night Football is set to debut on NBC and Peacock on September 8, when the Detroit Lions face the Los Angeles Rams.

Underwood performed her 12th Sunday Night Football open at The Resorts World Theatre in Las Vegas, where she became the inaugural artist to take the stage as the resident headliner when her residency, REFLECTION, kicked off in 2021. Underwood recently wrapped another series of REFLECTION performances . Her next set of shows will take place in October, and she’ll return to Vegas again in 2025.

“It was so much fun to welcome the Sunday Night Football team back to the Resorts World Theatre in Las Vegas,” Underwood said in a statement recently shared by her record label. “Shooting the new show open is always something I look forward to, and [ Tripp Dixon , Sunday Night Football creative director] and the whole creative team brought it yet again, and we had a great day putting on an exciting new performance. Like everybody else, I’m waiting all day for Sunday night!”

Dixon added in a statement that Underwood “delivers a show-stopping performance,” in her 12th consecutive Sunday Night Football performance. Dixon has served as creative director of the show open each year for the past 12 years, Underwood’s label noted in a press release. Watch the teaser here:
